Sicura was founded in 1934 by Theodore Sfaellos, then, on his death, was taken over by his son-in-law, Ernest Schneider with whom the Sicura house had its greatest successes in the 70s.

In 1975, Sicura SA had four watch assembly plants, a case factory and a jewelry factory, employed 450 people and produced more than one million watches a year

Here we have the Submarine model, one of the flagship models of this house.

It is composed of a 40mm diameter case, equipped with an automatic gauge with manual reassembly.

Sicura: The revival of Breitling

Following the quartz crisis, the watch company Breitling suspended its activities in 1978, laid off all its employees and sold its assets to the highest bidder. Some bought the watches, others the machines, and Ernest Schneider, of Sicura, signed an agreement with Willy Breitling to buy the rights to the names "Breitling" and "Navitimer".

Subsequently, Ernest Schneider introduced new models and breathed new life into Breitling with success. Within a few years, the Sicura brand was abandoned and Sicura became Breitling. Ernest Schneider remained president of Breitling until his death in 2015, at the remarkable age of 94. Ernest’s son, Theodore Schneider, is now the undisputed owner and manager of Breitling.

SEIKO cronos

Kintaro Hattori, founder of Seiko, opened his first watch and clock shop in central Tokyo in 1881.

Building on his success, he decided to open a production plant called Seikosha.

They were the first Japanese company to launch a wristwatch on the market.

Seiko became the official supplier of the country’s railways in 1929.

This model, released in 1958, is composed of a 36mm diameter case and equipped with a hand-wound movement, manufactured Seikosha.

This clear dial with golden index makes this model a timeless.

Seiko Story: The Importance of Competition

When the son of founder Kintaro Hattori took over the reins of the house, he opted for the creation of a second production plant. However, he decided to cut off all communication between the two factories, forcing both to want to release the best model on the market.

From this rivalry were born the strength and perfection that Seiko knows today.
